We make all our styles from sustainable fabrics. We use fabrics created from recycled consumer products such as water bottles and fish nets dragged from the ocean. These products would otherwise contribute to landfill.
Owner and creator of VDM The Label, Allanah Rosenwald, works closely with our manufacturer in Indonesia, ensuring working conditions are ethical and optimal for the team. Fabric off-cuts are used to test future designs and we incorporate left-over fabrics into end of season stock, so waste is kept to a minimum.
We are proudly plastic-free. All our packaging is made from corn starch and is 100% biodegradable. We use electronic invoicing, return slips and gift cards and aim to be paper-free.
The VDM The Label team believes quality and sustainability can co-exist, and that the fashion industry can and must change its practices to reduce pollution and landfill. Fast fashion and a “throw away” culture have also contributed to these issues, and we believe sustainable fashion - using recycled, regenerated fibre from consumer waste products is part of the solution.

Our focus is on custom prints and sexy silhouettes. For consumers, our brand is a safe choice—authentic, sexy & sustainable.
Our printed fabrics are made from REPREVE®, a leading performance fibre made from recycled materials (including plastic bottles). Production of REPREVE® offsets using new petroleum during manufacturing, uses 45% less energy, emits over 30% fewer greenhouse gases and uses 20% less water.
Our solid colour swimsuits are made from ECONYL® regenerated nylon fabric. The ECONYL® Regeneration System uses 100% waste material, including fishing line, fabric scraps, carpet and industrial plastics recovered from landfills and oceans across the world. Through a regeneration and purification process, this nylon is transformed into new yarn with the same characteristics as virgin raw material.
Each VDM The Label bikini made from ECONYL® uses approximately 10 recycled plastic bottles!
Our resort wear is made from 100% eco-rayon, a sustainable fabric regenerated from wood cellulose. These fibres are grown in farmed forests with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification, ensuring socially and environmentally responsible practices. The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) has also endorsed some farming practices as sustainable. Eco-rayon eliminates the negative environmental impacts of traditional fibre processing, using new sustainable technologies.
